Adam and Tracey

Adam

After a brief battle with substance abuse, Adam tragically passed away on August 12, 2020. He was 26 years young.
Adam was born in Newfoundland, Canada, and in November 2000, at age seven, he moved to Maine with his family where both parents accepted positions in the medical field.
A 2012 graduate of Messalonskee High School, Adam was a bright spirit who filled every room with laughter and mischief. His school years were marked by antics that brought joy to many—along with a few gray hairs to his parents and teachers.
A true creative, Adam had a passion for music, especially the guitar, and even built one from scratch. His talents stretched far beyond music—he had an adventurous approach to cooking and a quick wit that kept those around him endlessly entertained. Whether playfully sparring with his brothers or making an unexpected joke, he had a way of bringing laughter wherever he went.
What set Adam apart most was his heart. With kind eyes, a beaming smile, and a deep acceptance of everyone he met, he radiated warmth and compassion. He embraced life with joy, leaving an unforgettable mark on those lucky enough to know him.
Like his mother, Adam had a deep pride in his Newfoundland heritage.
Tracey

Tracey unexpectedly passed away in Augusta, Maine, on February 27, 2025.
Born and raised in Newfoundland, Canada, Tracey dedicated her life to caring for others, both as a devoted mother and a compassionate Registered Nurse. Her greatest joy was her four boys, whom she loved fiercely and unconditionally. Tracey was also a cherished sister, aunt, loyal friend, and loving partner. She offered comfort, strength, and unwavering support to those she held dear.
With over 26 years of experience in acute care, state Medicaid, leadership, and management, Tracey made a lasting impact in the nursing field. She took immense pride in mentoring others, including her niece, Jessica, who followed in her footsteps to become a nurse. Her kindness and dedication extended far beyond her profession—she made the world brighter just by being in it.
Tracey enjoyed visits with her sister and always found a way to spark uncontrollable, belly-aching laughter during their time together. She loved road trips, traveling to new places, walking along beaches, and finding peace in nature. Participating in Newfoundland-themed activities in Maine with her large circle of NL friends brought her immense joy, as did spending quality time with her partner, Jamie. However, her greatest happiness came from being with her boys, who were the light of her life.
The loss of her eldest son, Adam, was a heartbreak Tracey struggled to bear, leading her to alcohol as a way to numb the pain. As is often the case in recovery, there were setbacks, but she never gave up the fight. Despite her efforts and the unwavering support of family and friends, addiction—and a broken heart—ultimately claimed her life.
Tracey’s family would like to speak the truth about addiction. Silence would mean her death was in vain. It was real and felt by those who loved her the most. Tracey was a beautiful soul and will be deeply missed.
Adam and Tracey leave behind a heartbroken and deeply loving family, as well as a wide circle of loving, loyal friends who are devastated by this tragic loss.
