Larry Murphy

Larry Murphy passed away on December 20th, 2017, nine days before his thirtieth birthday. For more than a decade, Larry waged a courageous battle against darkness and addiction. He leaves behind an extended family including his mother and father, grandmother, two brothers, a sister-in-law, baby niece, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as loving friends in Portland, Maine and elsewhere. During the course of 2017 Larry formed a strong and significant bond with his beloved girlfriend, Brooke.

Larry was deeply loved by every member of his family and tight-knit circle of friends. He enjoyed shopping at yard sales, eating good food, and was an avid chef known for his kale-and-white-bean stew. He enjoyed the outdoors.

Larry’s absence leaves a gaping hole in our hearts and he will be missed mightily for the rest of our lives. Larry will always be remembered for his radiant, energetic presence and vivacious sense of humor. We take comfort in knowing that Larry rests peacefully.

Larry’s family has decided to honor his life by establishing a scholarship fund in his name at The Family Restored and The Plymouth House.

The Family Restored Scholarship Fund provides financial support for families struggling with addiction. To make a donation in Larry’s name, please click the button below.
