Ben Coffin
Ben Coffin found recovery in 2014 through the 12 Steps—an experience that continues to shape his deep commitment to helping others find freedom from addiction. He is a seasoned leader in peer recovery, with a background in community mental health, substance use disorder treatment, training development, and lived experience support. Ben brings extensive knowledge of addiction treatment systems and a passion for guiding individuals and families through them with clarity and hope.
Ben is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of Peer Recovery Consultants, an organization dedicated to applying and delivering the power of lived experience in substance use treatment through research, training, program development, and direct support. Before launching Peer Recovery Consultants, Ben served as Senior Peer Recovery Specialist at Point32 Health, where he helped integrate peer services into the broader continuum of substance use care. He previously directed a mental health drop-in center and led multiple teams providing behavioral health support across a range of treatment settings.
After being invited to speak at a Family Restored meeting by a friend in 2019, Ben discovered a deep passion for educating and supporting families facing alcoholism and addiction. He has been a facilitator at the Stoneham Chapter of The Family Restored support meetings since 2020 and continues to volunteer with the organization whenever he can.
In 2021, Ben co-founded 412 Inc., a Massachusetts-based nonprofit focused on expanding access to 12 Step sober living, opening its first house in Medford that same year.
