When Karen’s daughter became addicted to opiates, she and her husband found themselves in an unfamiliar world.  They frantically searched for help to gain understanding and insight into this powerful disease called addiction.  After attending several Family Support Groups, they realized hope exists and there is a solution.

When the facilitators of the Family Support Groups approached Karen to collaborate with them in starting a non-profit organization, she was eager to lend her expertise in launching The Family Restored.  She has been instrumental in raising funds for families lacking the financial means to send their loved one to treatment.

Karen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from the University of Southern Maine where she is employed full-time as an IT Project Manager.
