Personal Enrichment Scholarship Program

The Family Restored is happy to begin providing Personal Enrichment scholarships to individuals in recovery. Personal Enrichment can include services that contribute to professional development or personal growth. We want to support those on a path to recovery to find themselves after addiction. We believe that those who are able to find meaning in different hobbies, further their education or advance in their careers have a greater quality of life and success in long-term recovery. Those interested in applying should fill out an application and will be contacted by a person on the committee.

What Recipients Are Saying

“A lot of the things I wanted to do or try got so clouded with alcohol and drugs that I just never followed through. With everyday I’m sober the more I realize I’m capable of a lot of things. Showing up and following through in recovery has brought and taught me so much that it gives me confidence to do it in all areas of my life. Now this opportunity shows up and it feels like I have another shot at doing something I love.”
“(this scholarship) helps get men in early recovery out trying something new and deepening bonds with the community around them. I know how important it was for me to have an outlet to get active and laugh in early recovery. It allows me to identify and connect on the things we have been through, and share struggles, triumphs, moments of doubt, etc.”

Application Process

We are asking applicants to fill out an application and write a short essay on how a scholarship will be used to support personal enrichment and their recovery. We are also asking applicants to think about how they can use what they gain from the scholarship to give back to others in the community. The committee will then review the application and contact the applicant for a short phone interview. Scholarships will be awarded to those who accurately follow these steps with a valid request. Scholarship recipients are required to follow up with a TFR staff person and may be asked to speak to a group about the scholarship program.
