Eric Girard

Originally from Danvers, MA, Eric moved to Portland, ME in 2007 to pursue sobriety in a new environment. He quickly became a fixture in Portland’s recovery community and realized his experience could benefit others struggling with alcoholism and addiction. Well acquainted with the devastating effects addiction had on families, Eric co-founded The Family Restored Support Group and was also a founding member of The Family Restored. Eric has served as both president and vice-president of the organization.

Eric graduated from Southern Maine Community College with an Associates Degree in Behavioral Health and is a Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor. He has extensive experience working in the fields of mental health and substance use treatment. He has worked in group homes, sober living, in-patient and outpatient treatment, and detox centers. Eric is the former owner of Portland Sober Living, a 12-Step recovery home for men in Portland, ME.
